The End is Nigh...

Updated: Jun 28, 2022

Last day of exploration.

First, we went to lunch at Crawdaddy’s Café. Louisiana cajun/ creole food, and it was tasty. If you are not geared up for fried and/or spicy, I advise you to order with caution. The food is tasty, but the portions are huge and they will stay with you for awhile.

Next we went to Gibsland, LA to visit the Bonnie and Clyde Ambush Museum—open every day (and in friendly competition with their immediate neighbor, The Authentic Bonnie and Clyde Museum—not open every day). There is no A/C, but it is packed full of memorabilia and interesting factoids, plus an interesting short documentary running on a loop. The replicas of the car, with bloody bodies, and the room with the replicas of the bloody bodies laid out were appropriately…bloody. Of course, my family was most excited about spying the live cat napping at the foot of the poor deceased Bonnie in the car.

Finally, we wrapped up our sightseeing portion of the day with a visit to Gators and Friends—the friends being various types of deer, goats, donkeys, alpacas, mini-horses, and lemurs. You can feed anything with the exception of the lemurs, and of course, the alligators. You can easily visit the entire area in about 30-40 minutes.
