We sailed through customs in Dublin. We are on our way to the train station so we can head west (young man). I guess I really will be sitting in a railway station with a ticket to my destination.
The train ride was lovely. The rest of the family caught up on some much needed sleep while I was vigilant and protected our luggage. At the end of the line, I found a Starbucks. It was like a little shining star at the end of a rainbow. The next step was to find the guy from Enterprise and start the really scary part of the trip, driving on the wrong side of the road.
In Westport we checked into our first B&B of the trip, The Adare House. After a brief conversation with our host, we walked into town for an absolutely delicious meal at J.J. O’Malley’s. We really wanted to stay in town first traditional Irish music and a pint. But, the significant lack of sleep had caught up with us and it was an easy decision to head back and hit the rack. Sunset at 53 degrees north is around 10:10pm so we could see just fine for the walk.
My new pearl of wisdom is ‘Mind the gap’.
